SHE-process

SHE (Sustainable Hospitality Exchange) is an idea that is shared by many. It is not just about hospitality exchange but also about how it is facilitated, on a personal and on a network level. At the core of SHE is the praxis of sharing. Keywords are: trust, interconnectivity, caring, sharing, passion, meaning.

HER

The idea is to set up local round tables including all sorts of members of all hospitality exchange networks as continuations of the SHE conference.

So far her took place in:
1. Paris, 10th of August, during the European Hitchhiking Week. Over twenty people (active participants in the different networks) took part in a two-hour workshop session with information sharing and discussing.

What needs to be done:
1. Make a standard invitation that can be send around to the different localities to ask people who wants to facilitate such a meeting

this sheet of paper was left untouched during the weekend, so Dante and Robino started drawing on it and leaving their thoughts on paper, trying to map how things seem to be connected.

open space

The Open Space Discussion is an idea for making meetings grass-rooted and even more effective, now and in future. It follows the law of two feet: if you find yourself in a situation where you are not contributing or learning, move somewhere you can.
The Four Open Space Principles:

  • Whoever comes is the right people.
  • Whatever happens is the only thing that could have happened.
  • When it starts is the right time.
  • When it's over it's over and when it's not over it's not over.

When and Where

  • Antwerpen
  • 27-29th of November

Open Space
In unconference style (open space) all attendees are expected to contribute to running the event in some way. For most people this would mean participating in discussions or to facilitate workshops or discussion-groups. It could also mean organizing food, video-taping, writing minutes or reports. It all depends on your interests and abilities - there are many ways to help bringing this about.

Topics

Amsterdam Meeting

SHE Amsterdam took place in the last weekend of June, with around twenty to thirty participants, of whom several active hosts in Amsterdam, almost all ABC-participants, several bewelcome volunteers, some couchsurfing ambassadors, some random people and two volunteers at traveling school of life.

Sustainable Hospitality Exchange

SHE - Sustainable Hospitality Exchange
SHE is a concept. Its idea is to help making hospitality exchange sustainable, i.e. it is generated by itself, through the conditions it shapes.

Hospitality Exchange is the process of interaction between host and guest, possibly facilitated by transparent trust networks. How can these networks best be implemented to facilitate sharing nicely among 'strangers'. Plus, how sustainable are these networks?
